Stay Sharp 2013

it-is-finished

"The Work of Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ, as our representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. His atoning death and victorious resurrection constitute the only ground for salvation." - EFCA Statement of Faith #5

The doctrine of atonement is being questioned today.

  • Is Jesus' death "divine child abuse?"
  • Did Jesus really have to die or could sins have been forgiven some other way?
  • How important, really, is substitutionary penal atonement, as a doctrine?

We've asked Greg Strand to address the doctrine of the work of Christ at this year's Stay Sharp conference.

Using the Scripture as our inerrant guide and article #5 of the EFCA Statement of Faith as a key tool, Greg will be helping us to think about the heart of our faith.
